Alice Liou Bio
Growing up in Taiwan, Alice Liou studied watercolor, Chinese brush painting and calligraphy under various art masters. She moved to Washington State over 30 years ago and devoted her time to education and career. In recent years, she rekindled her passion for painting and studied watercolor, soft pastel, sumi-e, and oil painting with local artists.
Always inspired by the beauty of nature, Alice enjoys creating images that express life’s energy in a variety of forms. Her study of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy also contributed to her unique style of art work.
In her art creation process, Alice strikes to express the essence of the subject while capturing the light and dark aspects in a balanced and harmonious way. Her paintings have been exhibited in group shows and the Olympia Arts Walk events.
Alice enjoys working with artist groups, schools, and libraries to promote art education in the community. Some of her paintings are posted on www.alicelioufineart.com. Her artworks can also be found in private collections in Washington State.
