APCC Celebrates Its 25th Annual Polynesian Luau

August 27, 2022 - The Aloha Spirit really shined through during APCC’s 25th Annual Polynesian Luau. Attendees enjoyed making hats out of palm leaves, trying out the different wooden drums, shopping at the different vendor booths, and just meeting new people throughout the afternoon. The feast was delicious and all the dancers put on beautiful and energetic performances from Hawaii, Guam, Tonga, Tahiti, New Zealand, Fiji and Samoa. Legendary Fire Knife Dancer Kap Tafiti Te-o was our featured performer, all the way from the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii. He had a fun and educational demonstration of all the uses of the leaves of a coconut tree and even how to husk and crack open a coconut. Then he led an exciting Fire Knife Dance performance that just wowed the crowd! Everyone left with full stomachs and smiles on their faces. They are looking forward to coming back for next year’s Luau.
