Call for Art – Pacific Islander Artists

The APCC Jade Choe Gallery is seeking Pacific Islander artists who are passionate about sharing their cultural stories and artwork with the community.

Pacific Islander Artists – Exhibition Requirements


Artist Eligibility

  • Established and emerging artists are both welcome.All applicants will be reviewed based on their portfolio.

  • Individual artists and collectives/groups are welcome.

  • This will be a group exhibition. We currently have one confirmed artist and are seeking additional artists depending on the nature and strength of the work.

  • Artists based in King County, Pierce County, and Thurston County are eligible.


Artwork Requirements

  • Theme: Work should reflect cultural identity, heritage, or contemporary Pacific Islander perspectives.


  • Accepted media:

    • Installation art

    • Mixed media

    • 2D works

    • 3D / sculpture

    • Media / digital art


  • Presentation:

    • All artworks must be exhibition-ready.

    • Framed works must be properly wired for hanging.

    • Some installation works may require artist participation for installation and de-installation, depending on complexity.


Number of Works

  • Approximately 25 artworks total, depending on the size and scale of selected pieces.


Gallery Space

  • The gallery includes repositionable white walls and 3D/sculpture display areas.

  • Exact dimensions will be shared; please refer to attached photos for spatial context.


Fees

  • No exhibition fee.

  • Selected artists will enter into a gallery agreement upon confirmation.

  • A scope of work will be discussed and agreed upon before moving forward with contracts.


Submission and Interview Process

  • Artists are required to:

    • Bring a portfolio

    • Provide an artist bio

  • Selected applicants will be invited to schedule an in-person interview at the gallery.
