A Week of Growth, Healing, and Environmental Justice: August 4-8 | Ages 11-18 and Parents | Hosted by Asia Pacific Cultural Center
APCC’s newest programs, Mental Health (MH) and Community Environmental Justice (CEJ), are excited to present a curated weeklong of experiences and activities aimed at caring for the environment, our inner wellness/mental health, and our well-being for our District 4 youth (ages 11-18) and their families.
This FREE week of workshops and activities will provide unique learning, healing, and community-building opportunities. Our goal is to provide mental and environmental well-being in an engaging and accessible way. Join us!
Caring for our Inner Wellness!
Get ready to reset, recharge, and rise at the Community Care Summit for District 4 Youths! —an unforgettable series of events designed to ignite your inner power and boost emotional well-being! Kicking off Monday, August 4, dive into the creative world of Art Therapy, where self-expression becomes a tool for healing and discovery. On Tuesday, August 5, unlock emotional clarity with a powerful trio: Guided Trauma Conversations, calming Sound Baths, and soul-centering Yoga. Then on Wednesday, August 6, take control of your future during our Support and Financial Literacy workshops, helping you turn financial stress into smart and confident decisions.
But we’re not stopping there! Thursday, August 7, offers the ultimate stress relief with Massage Therapy, the perfect reset to soothe your mind and body. And to wrap it all up, join us on Friday, August 8, for a high-energy, feel-good Field Day packed with games, laughter, and connection! Whether you’re looking to heal, grow, or just have fun, these events are your chance to tap into real-life tools for lasting strength, resilience, and joy. This is your time—let’s make it powerful.
Grounding in our Environment!
We’re here to change the narrative. Environmental justice often gets overlooked—but it’s foundational to healthy living. CEJ’s mission is to spark change-making and grounding of District 4 youths and families, particularly those from immigrant and underserved backgrounds, and to center their stories in our collective healing. From North End to Central and South Tacoma, our neighborhoods deserve to thrive—with clean air, better resources, and a stronger sense of connection. After all, a sound environment makes for a sound mind, and as the AU&NZ Mental Health Association notes, “When you’re in green spaces, it becomes easier to switch off from sources of stress.”
Let’s face it—many youths today are spending more time on screens than in the world around them. This is a chance to unplug, reconnect with nature, and build a deeper understanding of self, community, and environment. No green thumb required—just an open heart and a willingness to grow.
