Thousands Gathered for the 12th Annual Samoa Cultural Week

July 24 – July 30, 2022 - It was a fantastic, jam-packed week of activities during the 12th Annual Samoa Cultural Week, where thousands of people from all over the region gathered in Pierce County to enjoy all the cultural festivities with their friends and family.

The beginning of the week was all about the youth with the Youth Gospel Night on Monday, July 25th, and the next day with the Youth Culture Learning Day. Then contestants showed off their singing talents during the Samoa Idol Competition at the McGavick Conference Center in Lakewood.

On Thursday, July 28th, the Tacoma Museum of Glass was the beautiful venue for the fabulous Samoa Fashion Show. The next day on Friday we had the Community Banquet Dinner featuring delicious food and exciting dances and presentations, with many elected officials, Asia Pacific leaders, and members of the community in attendance.

The final day was the Pasifika Food Festival with food booths, vendors, resource booths, and music and performances on the main stage.
